@DennisHallman reveals personal issues which forced him to pull out of @UFC on @FXNetworks 5 bout

Today, former UFC lightweight, Dennis Hallman, revealed the mysteries personal issues surrounding his decision to pull out of UFC on FX 5.

On Thursday, during UFC on FX 5 weigh-ins, reports that Hallman missed weight by a whopping seven pounds began to surface. When the UFC offered his opponent Thiago Tavaras a catch-weight bout and 20% of Hallman total purse, Tavaras agreed to face Hallman, but only if Hallman could come within three pounds of the weight limit.

Reports stated that Hallman couldn't come within the three pound allotment and the fight was subsequently cancelled. However, Hallman denies those claims, stating that the reports are inaccurate and that he was able to make the three pound limit set by Tavaras, but choose not to fight due to personal reasons.

Making matters stranger, UFC president Dana White choose to pay Hallman his show and win purse for the bout, right before releasing the fighter from his UFC contract.

White somewhat clarified the matter at the UFC on FX 5 post-fight press conference, stating that Hallman is going through difficult life issues and confirming that the UFC elected to give Hallman his show and win purse totaling $60,000. In addition, to paying Hallman his whole purse, the UFC bought him a plane ticket back to his hometown where he could take care of his personal issues.

Hallman is expected back in the UFC after he is able to make weight in regional shows a couple times.

Below, Hallman explains in his own words, the sensitive situation which occurred days before his fight which caused him to miss weight and eventually opted out of his fight at UFC on FX 5:
